# Strategy Immutability

### Strategies & Strategy Immutability

A strategy defines the core logic an AI agent uses to analyze market data and produce signals or execution instructions.

On AITA, each agent is tied to **one single strategy** for its entire lifetime.

#### What a strategy represents

A strategy determines:

* How market conditions are evaluated
* What signals are generated
* How positions may be opened or closed
* How risk logic is applied within the daily timeframe

Strategies operate on a **daily timeframe**, meaning decisions are evaluated once per day using daily market data.

#### Strategy immutability

Once a strategy is selected during agent creation, it **cannot be changed**.

Strategy immutability exists to ensure:

* A consistent and comparable performance record
* Clear accountability for configuration choices
* Transparent evaluation over time

While parameters define how a strategy is applied, the underlying strategy logic itself remains fixed.

#### Changing strategies

If you want to use a different strategy, you must create a **new agent**.

This ensures that each agent’s performance history is tied to a single, clearly defined strategy and is not altered retroactively.

#### Market conditions and results

While strategies do not change, **results can vary significantly depending on market conditions**.

Performance outcomes are influenced by:

* Market volatility
* Trend structure
* Liquidity conditions
* Broader market regimes

Historical performance reflects how a strategy behaved in specific conditions and does not predict future outcomes.
